I have this really bad virus

Ok about a month ago i got a virus that corrupted all my files to where everytime i tryed to open a program or any .exe file a notepad would open up with a bunch of codes the only thing you could read is " this program cannot be ran in DOS mode" at the top of the notepad. i reformated and cleaned the virus after i did some virus scan's with stinger.exe and some spyware scans. i scaned more after after i reformated to make sure i got everything then a week or so after the same virus came back May, 2 2004. i have a dell with windows xp. i need some help with this one.

Download and install AVG from http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php

Download adaware from
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Then go to windowsupdate.microsoft.com

If you still have the problem at the end of that then post back.
(Remembering of course to scan for viruses and spyware, etc.)

Also, stop visiting any dodgy sites such as certain Pr0n sites and things like that.

it works great for me
