I need a guru : which source is working?

Hi

I am using a Audigy 2 and Win XP.

Why is the followig happening :

When I play an audio cd from my cd-rom or dvd-rom drive
I get in the creative surround mixer the Wave/mp3 source working.

If I change the volume or disable the cd-audio or the cd-digital source
nothing happens

... so why is only the Wave/mp3 source controlling the cd audio volume ?

... Because Windows XP supports digital audio extraction differently from other Windows. CD Audio has traditionally required the CD-Audio cable to be connected from the CDROM to the sound card, but XP eliminates that by supporting DAE through software.

btw.. Rick is right, although, DAE is a feature found also, in Win2k isn't it?
