  1. I've gone some time without playing a new PC game. And I've gotten bored at just playing the same games over every time I get a new RIG. So please recommend me a new game, I am in dire need of something new. I meen I considered buying Starship Troopers. The game that had an average press rating of 4.7 out of 10. By the way It doesn't matter if the games are new or old, I don't mind outdated graphics as long as the gameplay is solid.

The games that I already have are:

    Halo Combat Evolved
    Half-Life 2
    Counter-Strike: Source
    Star Wars Republic Commando
    Doom 3
    Doom 3 ROE
    Far Cry
Project Snowblind (The problem I had was indeed antiailasing)
    Quake III Arena
    Quake IV
    GTA: San Andreas
    The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
    Area 51
FPS Creator (I make my own games with this)
Master of Orion (Requires Dos-Box under XP)
Master of Orion II (No online under XP)

    My specs are:

    0080: Primary Gaming Rig
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ Brisbane AM2 OC 2.09GHz
Biostar TForce 550 SE AMD AM2 Motherboard
    Corsair Value Select 2GB (512MB x4) DDR2-667 RAM
Seagate Barracuda PRT 320GB SATA2 HDD
eVGA e-GeForce 7900 GS KO 256MB Video Card
    Emprex 18X DVD-RW Standard Drive
    Lite-On 16X DVD-RW Standard Drive
POWMAX Ultimate White LED Gaming Case
Logisys 80mm RED LED Case Fans x5
    ASUS 80mm K8 CPU Cooler
Raidmax Volcano RX-630A 630W Power Supply
    Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2

    Thanks in advance.

I'd recommend the Battlefield 2 or battlefield 2142 which both are really good online games. and how is doom 3 ROE been thinking of buying it.

EDIT: And Command and conquer 3 AWESOME GAME!!, for battlefield 2 or 2142 you can download a demo and try it before you buy it, i like Battlefield 2 a little better.

If you've played Doom 3 then its pretty much the same thing. "Marine you need to get to me on the double!" It also borrows from other games. The give a "Gravity gun" like HL2's and with the "Artifact" the give you F.E.A.R.'s slow motion. I thought Doom 3 was pretty scarey, however repetitive, ROE I haven't ever been scared. In fact I've become bored at it because its so not scary. But if you need a new FPS then its a good choice.

These are some of the best games I have played and own:
Hitman series (except the first one, Codename 47)
    The Monkey Island series
    Grim Fandango
    Beneath A Steel Sky
    FEAR: Extraction Point
The Elder Scrolls IV Shivering Isles expansion
Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse
Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit (name may differ according to your location)
Serious Sam (all except Serious Sam 2)
    Max Payne 1 & 2
Unreal Tournament GOTY (not UT2K3 or UT2K4, those plain suck compared to the original)
    Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines
    Return to Castle Wolfenstein
    Freedom Fighters
Legacy of Kain series (Soul Reaver and Blood Omen series)
    Freedom Force 1 & 2
    Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance
    Thief series
    The Suffering 1 & 2
    Need For Speed: Most Wanted
    Star Wars: KotOR 1 & 2
GTA: Vice City (the best in the series IMO)
Prince of Persia series (even the old ones are great fun ;))
The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay
    Splinter Cell series
    Alien Vs Predator 2
No One Lives Forever 1 & 2 (the best FPS games of all time IMO)
    Neverwinter Nights (not NWN 2)
Age of Mythology + The Titans expansion

Whew! Spoilt for choice eh? ;)

i've played starship troopers, visuals are good but gameplay is boring after some time, spiders, spiders and spiders.many people have suggested many games, out of them, according to me some are pretty bad, like freedom fighter etc.i'll suggest u to play 'resident evil 4 biohazard' if it is published in your location on pc by now.

One game i noticed no one put up is The Godfather. Just bought it for PS3 and am loving it! C&C looks great..Look into World in Conflict..its looking lovely.

Edit: The godfather in fun..not graphically great but challenging and some time frustrating but overall fun to play

Freedom Fighters was a great squad-based shooter IMO. Maybe it just comes down to users' preference I guess. I've heard good things about BioHazard 4 though, so I suggest you get it. I will. :)

Try World of Warcraft, but be careful. you will be hooked to it, and won't be able to do other work.

The RE4 patch fixes a lot of shader issues, like the ones you're having.
