when i type in msconfig + then startup. the following items are checked off. can ayone tell me what these are, what they do, + if i need them on startup? rps, gdijlcfe, nvcpl, nwiz, nvmctray, run dll32 cmicnfg, realsched, ctfmon, winampa, + google desktop. next to all these files, in the location it says: hklm\software\microsoft\windows\current ver... if a pro could give me some help it would be much appreciated.

I`m not a pro.Not even a good amateur.Here is my wisdom.
gdijlcfe is spyware - realsched is crap.- winamp has no need to start with Windows - ctfmon is unnecessary HERE
Go to the Security and the Web forum,and see the stickies on getting rid of the spyware.
Post an HJT log if necessary(after following the instructions).
EDIT : Neil79 you have about 8 threads on the go at the moment.
Your allowed to use GOOGLE,just as well as the rest of us,you know.
