i currently have pcguard which i got with telewest blueyonder. should i get avgfree, spybot s&d, + ad aware. if so what else would i need? also, i have heard of windows defender + dont know what this is, + if i need it how do i set it up? any help would be real useful..

Run a good software firewall like Zone Alarm or Sygate, Good spyware protection like Spybot, Adaware and Spyware Blaster, get all of them and update often. DOn't forget Hijack This. Microsoft call it an "Anti-spyware" program,but I think your nearer the mark.
