I can't find my boot disk for Windows 2000 PRO... what should I do?

IE is the only thing not working... I found a sight called bootdisk.com but it has sooooo many things to download and save to a disk... Ihave no clue which is the one that I will need OR if I need it at all...

Can SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?

PS I have repaired my IE but it still isn't working. What should I do?

Many questions to ask....

What O/S are you runnning.
What were you downloading..
Have you tried going into safe mode and opening Iexplorer....
Does anything happen? ex you get an IE icon on your taskbar but IE page does not come up....

Try reboot into safe mode..... open IE.. if it works reboot back into normal mode and try it...

Post after you try that?

Windows 2000

It was a pop up that started downloading.. I stopped it! I have no clue what it was

I have tired in safe mode but it isn't working.

When I click on IE I keep getting this error message (something like this)

explorer.exe is shutting down a log will be created. The program will need to shut down.

I don't know if this helps?

this is about a shot in the dark but you can give it a shot...

try doing a system restore. go to safe mode. start>programs>system tools>system restore..

Do you have virus protection?

Try running that if you do. You can also check event viewer:

start
control panel
performance and maintenance
administrative tools
event viewer

check there to see if there was some error around the time it happened

I was actually talking about "virus" protection

Do you have norton or some other virus detection program? Try running that. For spyware/adware there are a lot of free trials. You have to search for them online. Try google. But you said your IE is not working so I don't know how you can download them. Also you can try to uninstall IE in program files and reinstall it from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx.

Go to my computer
c:(where c is your main hd)
program files
delete the IE folder

then download IE from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx

I dunno, usually when some program won't open or becomes corrupted, I just reinstall it and that normally fixes it. Maybe your problem is more serious but you can try that.

Oh one more thing

This has worked for me before when I had problems with IE. Go to:

Tools
Internet Options
Advanced Tab
Restore Defaults

Maybe what you were downloading changed some of your settings.

Couldn't hurt right
