Hello ? Everyone.
I want to know everything about Removeable media such as
CD-R,RW, DVD-R, and etc.

The thing I want to know is if I burn those media....and How long I can keep my datas in CD-R,RW, DVD-R and Etc.

Can anyone answer this questions ?

If I put wrong board, sorry.

Sorry, no "everything". I really have no idea about the exact molecular structure of the recordable layers in CD-R media..

You can keep your data on the as long as you want. The integrity of the data is another matter though :) Different sources say the data on a CD-recordable can be relied on for 2-10 years. If your stuff is really precious to you, then you should make new copies of your discs after every 3 years or so..

I would also add that the longevity of your media is determined by it's quality and how you store it. stay away from store brands, generic, and anything that says memorex. buy quality media like Taiyo Yuden, verbatim, or maxell ( although maxell can be spotty at times.)
