Hi Guys.
Ive recently swapped a USB modem ADSL BB connection (AOL) for a Netgear router. Im linking my one pc to the router with ethernet cable and not Networking as yet.
An Icon Ive not seen prior to connecting to Inet with router has appeared in my Network Dial-up connections panel. Its the network type Icon (twin pcs)
and seemingly it montors duration (time online) plus Bytes sent and recieved.
Can anyone please put me right - is this a genuine item?

Thanks.

Best regards.

Ed.

It should look like this.

Suggest you delete the Dial-up link and use the Network Wizard to create a new one

Thanks for reply jobeard. I contacted AOL Live Help yesterday and was informed that I will see the active Network Icon whilst Im using an ethernet cable link from router to pc even though its a stand alone and Im not actually networking. Im still unsure how it all works- seems everything has to be setup through AOL.

Thanks again- much appreciated.

Ed
