IE 6 cannot change home page

Brand new Windows XP Pro SP2 IE6.0 (no spyware)
Cannot change home page.
Current address is http://www.boston.com
Desired address:http://www.cnn.com
Tried
- all options using Tools=>Internet Options
- the same thing through Control Panel=>Internet Options
- All of the above in the Safe Mode
- Changed in the registry start page
Nothing works - comes back to http://www.boston.com
Please help

I do have ZoneAlarn working
Netstat points to my ISP only.
Home page points to the site of my first choice.

I forgot to mention that
- AdAware Pro with AdWatch is running from the very beginning, even before PC went to the Internet
- PC located at rural area and connected to the Internert through LinkSys router with no sign of any wireless network near by.

Sorry, I can't. This PC is 90 miles away at my friends home.
Please advise what direction should I move in my search for solution?
It looks so stupid.
Could it be Ad-Aware setting which prevents changes?

Its not that it only can be cool web it can be many others as well 180 search,search assistant,search wizard or others,look in the registry and remove them.

It's basically a DIY-guide for getting rid of a lot of irritant adware/spyware.
The thread got a CWS/B2S name at one time, and I won't change that, because it has become very popular.
