Have you recently installed a new firewall/antivirus/spyware package/google or yahoo toolbar?
On the browser menu bars, click to remove all toolbars except the status bar and try again. Also click on tools > manage add-ons > enable or disable add-ons and then disable the lot. If it cures the problem, put them back again one by one until you find the problem.

I've had problems with norton antivirus although fully subscribed the only way forward was to renew it. Its been a nightmare ever since, but I have just put firefox as my browser and magicaly its back to normal.

I agree with Albert, it`s probably Norton related. To be honest, I wouldn`t have that crap anywhere near my system. Apart from the fact it`s a complete resource hog, it seems to cause more problems than it solves.

I recommend you get rid of it by running this Symantec/Norton removal tool.

Then replace it with the following free software.

AVG free or Avast antivirus programmes.

Zonealarm Kerio or Comodo free firewall programmes.

Regards Howard :)
