IIS/localhost problems

I’m learning Dreamweaver MX 2004, currently I’m doing an ASP tutorial; I cannot get OLE DB connection string to work because it won’t let me build it. I cannot get DSN connection to work; I reinstalled my IIS but it still doesn’t work. My “local host” isn’t working so needless to say my "testing server" isn’t working so I cannot update any files on my ‘testing server’ nor my local network connection.
