I have a radeon9250 currently and have been looking into obtaining a better one. Its a pci card only option for me. I was going to go and buy a X1550 card as my replacement, but I don't see any in any stores atm, so I'd have to get it online.

However I've come across a card at the best buy that's supposed to be a newer type of pci card. Its a GeFORCE 6300OC 256MB PCI grapics card. Its kinda expensive and the specs go as followws.:

GPU NVIDIA GeForce 6200
Bus typeF PCI
Core Clock 350MHz
Memory clock: 410MHz
RAMDACs: dual 400 MHz
API support : Microsoft direct x 9.00 ot lower, open gl 2.0

It says it has
NVIDIA cineFX 3.0 engine
Microsoft DirectX 9.0 shader model 3.0 support
Nvidia ultrashadow II technology
Nvidia nview multi-display technology.

Now is this better than my current PCI card, or is it about the same or worse?
Does it still pale in comparison to the x1300 or x1550(which I can't find in the stores for PCI)?

I need a quick answer plz. Thank you.

This is the link for the X1550 PCI on Neweggs, They have some in stock and mail in rebate so its kind of cheap =]

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...0000048+1069609642&Description=X1300&name=PCI

There are more then one X1300 there so i filtered it all down to the PCI's for you =] (prices are more expensive then the X1550)

And both of these cards should be better then a Radeon if i remember correctly a 9250 has a Pixel Shades 1.2

P.S Once you know, You Newegg

Well the card I see at this store right now is barely that much more than the x1300 and x1550, I just need to know if its better than my 9250 and if its worse than the x1300 and x1550, and if so by how much?

No, the GeForce 6200 PCI is not better than the Radeon x1300 PCI or the Radeon x1550 PCI.

The GeForce 6200 has lower core and memory clock speeds than the Radeon x1XXX PCI cards. Also, the Radeon x1300/x1550 PCI have a 128-bit memory bus, compared to the 64-bit bus on the GeForce 6200 PCI models.

And seeing as the GeForce 6200 you are looking at in Best Buy costs more than the Radeon x1300/x1550, then it would not be a good choice.

the geforce 6200 will be better than your current card but not by much.

The x1550 will be substantially better than you current card but costs ~$120. The x1300 appears to be even better but costs ~$135. You choose what works best for your price range.

Understand however that $135 card for PCI will not be as good as a $135 card for PCI express.
