I'm new, plz help--vista

I am trying to reinstall vista home edition on my computer (came that way). I did all the steps and reinstalled but there are still old folders and files. Basically I want to reinstall, but like brand new (factory). I don't want ANYTHING on there. Can anybody understand me, and possibly help???

Do you have the boot disk?

Delete it all!

When your in the set up phases, when it asks what you want to do, goto install vista...then press D to delete the partition ( Whips everything clean ) then install onto that partition.

yes i have the original disk, and it goes to "istall windows", then asks me custom or the other one, i choose custom and it just starts. doesnt ask me for key #, it does ask for which partion, I pick c, and after I reinstall, there is a "windows old" folder which i tried to delete to no avail, and some 30 or 40 gigs are still taken

I figured it out, thanks to the people who responded.
