Help please, from a Technoramus!!!

Hi All,

Hope you are having a splendid day. I work for the Gov'ment in SA on a PC that does not give us 'administrator rights'. Quite rationale, but not all of us are fools. The guy who had the PC before me made himself an administrator and taught me the basics before he left for OZ - PS his name was not Jake...

Anyways, I tried to install Windows Media Player 11, but then sound died ( an me sole) and troubleshooting shot out error message: C00D11B1 Tried fixits suggeted with no luck. What now????????????????

Jakes

If you can log onto Windows under administrator, get into the Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager and look for a yellow mark in the sound devices list. Uninstall this "yellow" device and reboot your computer. See if your sound returns
