Installation problem Fortissimo II

  1. I have a Asus A8N-SLI premium mainboard with an AC97 onboard soundcard. The drivers of this soundcard don't allow you to configure the audioports and I need a port for my headphones so I thought I'd install a Fortissimo II card I had lying around. I downloaded the newest drivers from the hercules site (version 6.09), plugged in the card, booted up windows and a "multimedia hardwarecontroler" was found. So far so good...

When I try to let windows automatically install the hardware "The hardware has not been installed because the necessary software has not been found", the same happens when I point windows to the installed driver "C:\Program Files\Hercules\Audio\Crystal Sound Cards\wdmaherc.inf" windows says that there are no data concerning the hardware on this location.

I tried disabling the AC97 soundcard, I tried older drivers, etc... Nothing does the trick...
