Installing XP home over XPpro crack

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for installing a legit copy of XP home over a XP pro crack. I dont want to lose anything and if I install over the crack, it warns that there could be data loss?
Another computer is requiring microsoft login before I can even boot to the cracked version of XP pro. Is there a way around the login request?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, you can't install Home on top of Pro.

MS login required even before an OS boots? Erm.. No.

I understand you are trying to save some other data. I suggest you move that data and make your computers legit.

it sounds like you are trying to use repair console to do a repair install of XP. if you enter repair console it will ask you for administrator password to log on to the OS you want to repair.You cannot do a repair install of XP pro with XP home. you need to do as Tedster suggested. back up your data and then boot from the windows CD delete the existing partition, create a new partition, format it and windows will install.
