Integrated Motherboard Soundcard Problem

My old motherboard had a problem with the soundcard that wouldn't let it play sound from the right channel and I assumed it was a mobo problem. I just got a new board and it has the SAME problem. The sound works fine out of the front audio ports, but the back port only play left. I had to format/reinstall for something different in between mobos, so I don't think it's a software problem. Could it be my case, or what? Thanks!

your motherboard has a soundcard jumper block somewhere on it that is wired to your front panel ports. a bad conenction or disconnected wire there could easily be causing your problem. refer to your motherboard's manual for the pinout specs.
