Intermittent Connectivity with Win XP and Linksys Wireless Adapter

I have Windows XP SP1 on my computer and an new version of Linksys's WMP54G wireless adapter. I am losing my connection every 5-60 mins and then it re-established the connect. It is driving my crazy when I am gaming online and going link dead. I have tried updating drivers etc and that does not help. An older version of the same card works fine in the computer. Linksys has not been able to help me. Please help.
