I have maybe 600-750 right now (my kids college funds get most of my extra $$$) and want it to get the best frame rates possible in that price range. I was looking at cyberpower - they seem to have affordable gaming pcs...

they call it a "Socket AMD2 mega special 1"

Price: $639
Socket AM2 Athlon64 X2 3800+ Processor
NF4 SLI Chipset Mainboard
1GB PC6400 DDR2/800 RAM
160GB 7200RPM SATA-II HDD
nVidia 7300LE 256MB X16 Video
16X DVD+-R/RW Drive
7.1 Onboard Sound
and windows xp home adds around $100. ............

Thanks for any comments

i finished call of duty 2 on a pc(2.4ghz,512mb ram, geforce 6200,256mb) which had almost 1/5th power of your affordable proposed gaming pc.

CoD2 will play on less of a machine... but that's not a bad system spec.. I would have just pieced it together myself and saved a little.. or got a better system...
