was convinced to look for a new psu, this one seems to meet my demands at a reasonable price. any comments on it?

It is a decent power supply IF you need the Crossfire SLI connection capability. But we need to know more about your motherboard, and what you plan to install... cpu, video graphics devices, etc.
It would not be my choice until I knew whether you are connecting more than one video graphics card, and what cards they are.
