Jumping mouse

My mouse jumps around the screen. Sometimes more than others. It sends messages before I am finished with an email. Help.

It is not spyware. It is your mouse, I assume it is one of the smaller sized microsoft optical scroll mouses? This happens to all of these mouses. At current there is no solution but microsoft are aware of this problem and are attempting to find a solution to it. Just to make sure, plug in an old mouse and see if this makes a difference.

Mouse is for note book, but not optical

It is smaller mouse, but not optical. It plugs in USB.

I do have spyware. I have had the problem ever since I installed SP2.
Could that have anything to do with it?

Optical is not the same as wireless, although it can be wireless. It has no roller ball.

I did not know it was such a common problem. It has been quite frustrating.
I will look for an older mouse that is not "optical".

It is just that mouse, nothing to do with optical, try the older model of microsoft optical scroll mouse (should be slightly larger than your other). This should fix the problem.
