Just fitted a 250gb hitatchi sata HD, need some help

hi, i just fitted a new HD to my pc, its a hitatchi deskstar 250gb sata HD, i have a seagate barracuda 160gb also on sata, and a maxtor 80gb IDE drive,
i can see the new drive in the bios, but when i click on it and select auto detect drives, the bios goes all jibberish and i have to re boot, my problem is that i cant see the drive in my computer??, its connected to sata 1 and the seagate drive with my os is on sata 0...maybe im missing something,, can anyone help??


ok just found out that the new drive is sata II, the one in my pc is sata, can i do anything about this????

Which drive has the OS? 80GB IDE Drive?

Also you should have those SATA in series of same size like: 0-R 250GB / 0-R 250GB to mirror drives.

my os is on the seagate 160gb on sata 0, if i created partitions on my new drive to the same size as the partitions on my seagate drive would this help for mirroring??, just got software from hitachi to change the settings of the HD,,, i will post back
