Maybe attacking Kapersky directly might sound a bit too much, but, Eugene Kapersky's background is also worth considering. Plus they really could do anything with the software that roots deep into a system.

I never saw a humanitarian war. Did you see one? It's not only about Kaspersky but about the aggressive Western attitude in general. In my book that's just adding fuel to the fire, and especially with the Russians who are stubborn like hell. Peace is about being peaceful, IMO.
The West tried ‚not adding fuel to the fire‘ and being peaceful in 1938. Did not work out so well.
Appeasement only works to a certain point and not with / for everyone.

This is dumb. Even IF it were true that Kaspersky is a Russian spy tool, I'm certain the FSB wants 'targeted' data, not miscellaneous data on millions of random Joe Schmoes. Do people think Kaspersky is the NSA or Google lol. Also, no Russian spy program would ever be so openly Russian to begin with... unless that's what they WANT you to think! No seriously calm the f**k down people.

We have an old saying here in America that is 100% applicable.
Never negotiate with terrorists.
Impossible to negotiate with Bush Jr. and Tony Blair then. They were responsible for the illegal attack on Irak. Nobody sanctioned them despite they wiped their as*es with UN. Powers are all the same. They have bad memory.

Putin is NOT Hitler. You can negotiate with him.

If by ‚negotiate‘ you mean ‚give him everything he wants without expecting him to keep his word‘… sure. That sounds just like that guy with the special mustache in that respect.

Now, I‘m definitely not comparing the two as they aren‘t the same. But both had / have their plans and goals that they will try to push through unless there is strong pushback.

Looking at the pieces individually, many of them actually seem reasonable or at least understandable (in the beginning) but it‘s the end goal that needs to be kept in mind and this is not at all reasonable or acceptable.

If you appease aggression, it's never going to stop. Russians are stubborn, but they're not stupid. At some point, hopefully, brighter people in the room will convince Putin, that his ambitions are too high and a deal will be made. Sooner will be better than later.
Not his ambitions are too high, he himself is too high, just listen to what that ***** is taking about all the time for the last few weeks, not a sane mind at all, the kind of sick guy who needs to be replaced asap from his position. Hopefully the Russians themselves deal with him, sooner will be better than later.

regarding kaspersky: the same threat can happen from all other remote execution tools / security solutions. they are only a victim of their totalitarian, war mongering government which, by the way, sh*ts on its own people's well-being.

- elected by the people - my ***..

The idiocy behind the reasons for attacking IRAQ aside, the end result was that a Putin (GFY) type from the 90s was removed. That's a good thing for us free society types.
Putin is NOT Hitler. You can negotiate with him.
Are you serious!?!? He hasn't kept a fraction of the negotiated promises he made during his reign, and now you want us in the real world to trust him?
I have heard of rose colored glasses, but you must be staring at a damn painting for your "real life".
American arrogance leading to WW3.
I'm sure what leads to war is an attack on an independent nation. Not to mention easily fooled sycophants like yourself.
When the Russians win, war will stop.
Yeah, no arrogance there.
Keep a close check on your predictions. Russia got push back even further in the last few days. They are losing, to UKRAINE!

And since you have put common sense on hold, no, I don't think we could beat Russia down by breakfast.

It could take a few days.

180 days later ...

US> hmmm ...we see you have invaded Poland and annexed Belarus... So, we see you have invaded free sovereign country and killed children and women and bombed hospitals.. well REWARD you by letting you get away with it and pay you money so you will stop.

180 days later ...

Nope, everyone should keep squeezing all the money power and resources until his cronies he put in power stab him in the back to get back their yachts, caviar and American merchandise and McDonalds.

Well, this is disturbing. I've never used Kapersky and now I'm glad. These days though, Windows Defender is good enough. I never even bothered installing Avast on my craptop.
Finding out at least one govt. agency in the (*****) country you are from are using it would be even more disturbing (talking about mine here).

Stopped installing AV on my personal PC a while ago. Windows Defender is fine and third party AV were often more trouble than they were worth.

As someone doing crop AV work, I can easily state consumer AV is ''ok'', but more often you are the actual product and security is a secondary by product.

If you can get MS EDR on your device for free it is excellent, Symantec EDP, CrowdStrike and Sentinelone is also really good since they are corp based AV.
But most consumer AV is more marketing your data and habits. And as always .. if it is free .. you are the sole product.

This really sucks. We use it here at work and it is really, really good at network/workstation protection. Time to research. Thanks .gov for helping us waste thousands in having to switch.
You lost your money the second you bought that junkware so do not blame someone else for doing their job properly.

More than 5200 sanctions they received, but the war continues. When the Russians win, war will stop. I know Russian mentality. They can sacrifice one million soldiers to win. They do not care about costs.
They will care soon. Because now EU will transition faster to renewables and will stop buying their fossils. This will be game over for them. They are north and have not much sun so they will now have to buy energy. And they are not very rich if you exclude the fossils...

It goes even beyond that. Germany has put the clamps on the pipeline.

And most of Europe is beginning the process to eliminate their fuel dependency on Russia.
"In five years, European countries hope to end dependence on Russian fossil fuels, and by the end of the year, they look to slash reliance on Russian gas by two-thirds."

Russia is in a heap of s**t already, and it is going to get worse.

Western governments are crazier and more aggressive than the government they intend to punish for being crazy and aggressive.
Yeah, I think the fact that the US has upwards of 150,000 troops stationed on the border of Mexico, ready to invade, simply because we want to add it to our "Empire", is emblematic of our "craziness" and "aggressiveness".

We know we can't win a ground war, so we sit in Texas, and lob cruise missiles into our southern neighbor, simply for the sheer pleasure of turning their infrastructure into dust.

They have India and China. EU and USA are not the entire world like these countries usually think. While I don't approve the invasion, I dislike the western arrogance (and I am from the West).

I don't think you're allowed to call it, "an invasion". It's a, "special military operation".

If you really disapprove of the "special military operation", you should march yourself out in front of the Kremlin and say so..

BTW, how much oil revenue do you think Russia can milk out of a place like Bangladesh? Enough to buy Putin a new super yacht?

Kaspersky did okay as far as PC protection went. I've mainly used ESET and BitDefender which have been fine.
