  1. Reseating Graphics chips on laptop mobos.
    Apparantly wrapping the board in tinfoil, cutting a hole where the chip is. Heating chip to 220deg, let it cool down a bit, then press down on the chip quite firmly.
    Assemble and turn on. Where once the mobo was dead but now its alive. It does work, but my question is, "how reliable is this repair job" Does anyone know?

    Cooking your motherboard like that, melts the contacts and they refuse when it cools.

    It's pretty 'user idea' rather then professional :p But it has worked for a lot of people, just not something I'd be trying to explain to my customers as one of my solutions
