Hi everyone, I have a Toshiba Satellite A35-S1592 with the following specs:

Processor: Celeron 2.7 GHz
RAM: 512 MB (DDR SDRAM)
Chipset: Intel 852GME, Bus Speed: 400 MHz
OS: XP Pro

The problem I'm having is that the laptop shuts down randomly. When it shuts down and I reboot immediately, I 'll get a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left corner. If I wait a few minutes and reboot, it will boot normally. It usually lasts a good 20 minutes before it turns off. If I don't use any applications, it will remain on indefinitely, yet when I run apps it doesn't last long. I can hear both fans running, so I know that the fans work, but I'm not sure how effectively it's cooling the processor.

I don't know if it's the fan or the motherboard. I doubt it's software-related, but I'm not a pro. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

It's fixed!

Hey, that website helped out! I found out that the fans had a big fan turd. Once I removed the heatsink and cleaned it out, the pc ran perfectly. The fan is also operating much quieter now. Thanks.
