Laptop freezes during torrent download

I just bought a new Toshiba Laptop a135-s4427. I put 1.5 gigs of ram in it. It is running windows vista and it is great. But every time I download something on utorrent it completly freezes my laptop. I mine completly, I can't do anything but hold down the power button to turn it off.
What could be the problem? More RAM?

Torrents are great conduits for viri. It also may be over-taxing your system.

use the Device Mgr to find the Make/Model of your NIC.

Then google for a driver update OR go online and then attempt
Update Device Driver.

Also verify you have suppficient free space on the HD for large downloads,
but it's more likely to be massive UDP traffic inbound over running buffers.
