I recently went to replace my laptop bezel, hnges, and top plate on my Gateway Solo 5300. After replacing the bezel and getting everything put back together the screen will not show anything. It is getting power, but there is no information showing. The backlight comes on but cannot get it to show up. I tested the mainboard by hooking it up to a stationary monitor and it booted fine. Just wanted to know if there is any way of testing the LCD or is there anything I should check to make sure is plugged in correctly? This is my first laptop experince and am a little unsure where to go from here. There isn't anything visibly wrong with it. Could maybe ESD have fried the little board that the LCD cable plugs into?

Well you have to go back and check every step you took.

Your LCD worked fine before and you just replaced the plate and all, right?

Make sure that one of the cables did not come out or is not being pinched.

I have parts for GW2K SOLO if you can’t find some cheap.

You might want to look for cj2600 or his posts about Toshiba laptops, he might be of better help.
