WHen LCD monitors first came out gamers didnt like them because of a laggy video, at least thats what i heard. But i want an lcd monitor but need to know what would be a good one, and why. as always cheaper is way better.

i have a Geforce 6600GT graphics card, that uses dvi so a dvi monitor would be great, but i have the adapter for a vga connection.

Well, cost aside, I use a Dell 2005FPW which is a 20.1" wide-screen lcd. It's fantastic for gaming....my most-often played is BF2. Don't go for just "fast" monitors as in 16ms or below. Though that IS important there are a lot of variables out there and a lot of the manufacturers know how to tweak their testing to give you not completely true info. Read alot of reviews and check your wallet. The prices are coming down....just keep your eyes open.

ya i have seen the prices starting to drop...thats primarily why i asked, but one other question, what is the contrast ratio and whats a good figure for a gameing lcd?
