Lexmark X63 Spooling problem?

This is my first post on your site. My problem is a Lexmark X63 that prints OK but it takes well over a minute to start printing after I press the Print button. I dont Know much about printers or computors, but I have never had this problem before. I have Windows XP Home and the Printer is connected by a USB cable. My computer is an emachine about six months old. Everything else seems to work OK.
