Little help with DDR PC2700 running at 166mhz, please.

  1. Hey. Firstly, sorry, I'm sure you read this kind of thing very often. All the same I'd really appreciate some help. I have 2x256mb of PC2700 DDRram running on my ASUS a7n8x2.0 deluxe with an AMD Athlon XP 2600+ processor and I cannot seem to get my memory running at over 166mhz. Surely I ought to be able to get 333 out of this ram? CPU-Z describes the max bandwidth of my ram as "PC2700 (166mhz)", but doesn't PC2700 ram run at up to 333mhz? Again, I'd really appreciate any help.

    PC2700 or DDR333 has a total speed of 333Mhz. However it runs at 166Mhz and is accessed twice per clock cycle for a total of 333Mhz approximately.

    166 Mhz is the correct speed.
