OK I am running windows XP Pro eddition. I have 512 MB DDR RAM on a K8m800-m7a Biostart MOBO. I got a error message earlier saying " your system is low on virtual memory. Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory paging file. During this process, memory requests for some applications may be denied. For more information, see Help. BLAh blah blah... Ok I know where to change the page file size im using however... I dont know what I should change it too or what would be right for my computer. I know windows XP supposely fixes this problem but im not thinking its successful in its manner of correcting the problem. Right now I have a total page file size of 963 MB.. Is that right for me. Does anyone know anyhthing about this?

first, set the PF size to FIXED 1024 (ie 2x your 512 ram)
second, defrag your disk and the PF will become on piece.

if it happens again, use the Taskmanager, Process tab,
click on Mem Usage twice to make the view sort descending.

now you can monitor which processes are hogging VM.

the next question will then be WHY?

So you're using applications that take more than 1.5 GB of RAM in total?
