Madden 2004 Start up Issue on XP

Game installed fine but when play screen pops up after I put in cd or start from shortcut with cd in drive, I click play and a black box half the size of my screen pops up for less than a second then it's just me and my desktop. Tried both cd and dvd drive, neither work. This is the only pc game I have installed that has never worked, it's new no damage. Have XP Home and all the best hardware but can not get this game to work. Any ideas please let me know. I use ultramon for my dual-monitoring and do not know if this is what's effecting start up, I have little time with the advanced tweeks I can make in ultramon but highly doubt this software is the problem.

I never have tried ultramon before but I have used other virtual drive software like dameon tools and Madden 2004 has never crashed on me! I don't know if Madden 2004 will work with ultramon but I know with my past experience it's worked great with Daemon tools!
