I built a new system and put in a 256 ddr333 pc2700 ram module. When I boot the bios indicates it is indeed 256, but in windows properties it says 192MB Ram..I am aware that shared memory reduces your memory display, but by 64 MBs? Don't think so. Help if you can!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

It seems likely that you have onboard shared graphics.

If you have a seperate graphics card as well, then disable the onboard graphics via bios.

Actually yes 64 MB i quite often an option. Go into BIOS and you should be able to turn it down to a lower amount, or get a cheap video card so you wont have to share.
