    If you don`t have a floppy drive, there is an iso version that you can burn to cd, and then boot from that.

    Let it run for at least seven passes.

    This may help him out a little, I wrote it out and saved it to avoid constantly having to type it out!

    Memtest 86 Instructions

    Download the file and save it to My Docs, locate the downloaded Zip file, extract the files to the automatically set download location which is My Docs, locate the extracted folder, open it and copy/paste all the files inside, to the A:\> or Floppy Drive to a Blank Formatted Floppy Disk, your Memtest 86 Bootdisk is now created.

    Make sure your CMOS First Boot Device is set to Floppy Drive, Startup the computer with the Memtest 86 Bootdisk in the Floppy drive, Memtest 86 automatically starts to run after the files are loaded, it will run until you press the Esc Key to stop it.
