I want to replace my memory, but can't decide which one to buy. The first link is the memory I have now, and the second link is the other choice. I would post a pic of what CPUZ shows, but I don't know how to do that. Here's a little info on my system: almost 3yrs old, Intel mb D875PBZ, Intel 4 3.2, xp pro, radeon 9800 pro & 1gig memory. I want to upgrade to 2gig of memory. So which one do I buy?
1) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145416

2)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...top+Memory)-_-Corsair+(XMS+Series)-_-20145466

i wouldnt recomend either of those i would get a kbyte 1gb pc2700/pc3200 i think it has ddr 2 mem or ddr 1
with 333 mhz or 400 mhz speed from best buy theyre around 100$ but i got mine on sale for 65 dollars and they work great!
oh yeah when i say 333 mhz and 400 mhz speed i mean 333 mhz is for pc2700 and 400 for pc3200
anyways you should seriously get it man it youll notice a difference

Both the Corsairs run at 400, which is twice the speed of my present memory. One of my concerns are, do I have to replace my original memory or can I keep it?

Well you should never mix different types of ram module. If you do, then your likely to experience crashes ect..

Providing there the same, then you can put your old one in to.

Thanks Jase123, didn't think of that! I still can't decide which one to buy. The first choice will cost $256 for 2gigs, and the other choice will cost $160 for 2gigs. And I just can across a third choice for $185... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145486

More questions:
The first two memory choices have CAS Latency 2 and Timing 3-4-4-6...
The third memory choice has CAS Latency 3 and Timing 3-4-4-8...
Should these number be big concern as to which one I buy?

Your welcome.

Could you please post details of the first two types of ram your thinking of getting.

I will then tell you which is best to get.

Regards Jase :)
