Mic Problems

I am having problems with Windows Vista and my Mic. I have Teamspeak, and its fine when im not in a game, but when I am in game, and pressing down the talk button for teamspeak on 2142, no one can here me. The only game that works so far with teamspeak that I have found is Flight Simulator X. The Mic used to work perfectly on my XP machine. How do I fix this? Most mic units are quite fragile, but check your plug and socket for looseness, and dirt. Try your mic in a different computer.
Otherwise, it has to be a sound card or sound driver problem.
