It’s been over one month since Pokémon Go was released in the US, and the game’s popularity isn’t diminishing. But for one Michigan couple, the number of players trying to “catch ‘em all” has become too much.

Scott Dodich and Jayme Gotts-Dodich filed a class action lawsuit against Pokémon Go creator Niantic, The Pokémon Company, and Nintendo last week, according to WDIV. The pair claim that the Pokémon gym and Pokéstops placed in Wahby Park in St Clair Shores has turned their neighborhood into a “nightmare.”

They allege that the private cul-de-sac they live on has been overrun by Pokémon Go players over the last several weeks, some of whom blocked driveways with their vehicles, trespassed on property, trampled over gardens, and peered through windows.

"We don't feel safe sitting on our porch," the couple said in the lawsuit. In one instance, when Gotts-Dodich asked a player to leave her property, she was told to “shut up, b****, or else.”

The couple said attempts to remove the Pokémon gym and Pokéstop from their neighborhood using the request forms found on the company's website had been met with generic responses thanking them for their enquiries.

The suit alleges that the placement of the attractions constitutes a continuing invasion of use and enjoyment. The pair seeks monetary damages, a ban on Pokémon in the park, and class-action status to represent other property owners who have experienced similar problems.

Ealier this month, Iran became the first country to ban Pokémon Go due to unspecified security concerns.

You can't enjoy a public park these days. Over the weekend, I like to photograph wildlife, flowers etc at a couple nature parks. Even at 7am when the park opens, if you get there less than 1/2 hour after it opens, you cannot find a place to park because the poke-zombies are everywhere. Smoking, throwing trash around, trampling in the flower gardens etc. It's a mess! How long will it be until this stupid thing goes away?
If people were more considerate, had manors and respect it would be one thing, but most of these *****s are just nuts.

This is so funny at how a company can legally put a game out at the expense of everyone. Including those who never intend on playing. I can see rules coming to help regulate games like this, if it doesn't fade away.

If people are peering in their house, it's probably because they're storing rare Pokemon in there. Now, the whole world knows. They may need to move to Iran to escape.

Fortunately I live out in the country but had a "visitor" yesterday that drove all the way down my driveway (100 yds), jumped out and started that non-sense. He realized he wasn't going to get his "prize" when I produced my pump shotgun and put one round in the air, reminding him that Tennessee is a "stand your ground" state and he was standing on mine, without permission .... I'm just waiting for a few of these kids to get themselves killed as this fellow damn near did ..... what, other than a vacuum, goes thought these people's heads?!?!?!

Pokemon, of course!!! :)

It will be fun when companies partner with niantic and make their businesses poke stops and gyms only to find out people with intentions of being a customer cant park or avoid said business because so many people seem to be in line when their just catching pokemon. Pokemon is fun but people litter and travel by car only to catch them, would be nice to see a study on how much pollution and cleanup costs this causes and someone suing niantic.

d EMO brats are conflicted over this game. It's contributing to global warming !

Oh my !

The kids today are too stupid to even know better honestly. They were never taught and wouldn't care if they were. I agree, Nintendo should pay. In this case, they are fueling the fire of today's ignorant kids.

True. They are never taught by their parents to be considerate to others...because the parents themselves are not considerate to others , so they don't know they are supposed to teach this to their children.

Maybe Singapore would welcome these littering pokemon players - with canings. LOL We should all petition niantic to move all the characters that players can collect to locations in Singapore. :)

Nice idea, but giving a person a flesh wound is a little difficult with a shotgun filled with #4 ..... but I like your idea. Maybe I could get some shells made up with confetti like the Globetrotters use in their act? Of course, then he would probably die of a hear attack and I'd have to explain to the cops why a guy dropped dead in my driveway, covered with confetti ...... LOL

Yep, they come out in some of the areas here in the Missouri Ozarks, between the state line & Arkansas, they might disappear, never to be seen again. Lots of places to BURY someone that no one will ever find.
It's happened before down here.

stand your ground doesn't give you the right to brandish and fire into the air. You are one of those gun owners that makes the rest of us look bad.

Protecting your property does not make you look bad. Now if he had taken his gun to the local service station and opened fire, that would make you look bad. Shooting up a police station or hospital would make you look bad. Geez you really need to get a grip on what it is that makes you look bad.

You fired a warning shot to scare away a guy playing a video game who did nothing but make a mistake? Sounds like you're a redneck who doesn't understand the "stand your ground" law. I don't think playing a video game would constitute the details of that law… and you shouldn't be able to use it to justify murder when you basically just said that you know what he was doing.

Yes, it does make other gun owners look bad… because that law does not give you the right to fire your gun into the air, and doing so in the manner he described makes him seem trigger happy.
