Microphone not working in games.

Just got my brothers old mike and to my surprise it didn't work in bf2 or counterstrike. I went into sound and audio devices then proceded to test it and it worked just fine. However, in cs: source and bf2 the voip test wont pick it up; I even went to the voip setup in the bf2 folder, and I still got no response.
I switched "mikes" and still ran into the same problem. any Ideas?

Do you have the latest sound drivers for your sound card?

Ya I have the latest driver and its still not working.

What make is your sound card?

Also, check that the mic isn`t muted in Windows.

The sound card is the onboard intel high def for the D915GEV and the mike isnt muted.
