Microsoft's next-gen console rumored to be more powerful than PlayStation 5

What a silly premise/headline/article.

"My loosely defined and as of yet non-existent machine that's supposed to come out a year from now is going to be slower then someone elses machine of which nothing is known about at all, really"

There. I started a rumor. Can I get a blog post?

Power is irrelevent.

What I need is Content.

I absolutely was not as impressed with the Xbox One/ PS4/ WiiU generation as much as I was with Xbox 360/ PS3/ Wii.

There was so much variety back then.

DDR Universe releases.

Rock Band releases.

Guitar Hero releases.

Peripherals such as my iON Rocker...

We've literally been losing content since games went HD. Remember when Playstation had Guncon and Dual analog Flight Stick?
Bring back Ridge Racer and a new Jogcon for those without a desk or racing rig!

What erks me more than anything about modern consoles, the push to shove everything in your face, like you load up the videos tab on ps4 and it's full of promotional crap.
They do well in the way of not pushing games at you unless you go into the store.
Worse on xbox, it's just a tiled wall of **** I do not wish to see or know about.
just give me my library and a separate page I can't see with all this should I ever want to.
Load up steam, can default it to my library so I never see the store, I don't even acknowledge the store unless it's a sale.
Not used Origin for a few years but that started to take the piss with pop ups so it got canned and I pirated the few games I owned through the store.

I totally agree.
PS4 Pro isn't more powerful than the Xbox One X. X is actually more powerful.
Sony just has better exclusives and more player base but I see the player base for MS going higher with the integration of PC, something that Sony can never ever do. At least not without permission from MS.
Sony doesn't need MS's help or permission to do proper PC games and better integrate the PS5 with the PC.

If Microsoft actually wanted to beat the performance of the PS5 the easiest option would be to switch to Intel/Nvidia. They could get a lot more power in a console sized package but the the price would be far too high and it would never sell. My guess is that AMD are giving both MS and Sony the hardware at below cost and will be playing them off against each other to get the most PR.

So what you say is technically true, Intel/Nvidia would make it easy for the next-gen Xbox to beat the PS5. Unfortunately for all of us gamers, I don't know if you can think back to 2001 again, but Microsoft originally went to Intel/Nvidia for the Original OG Xbox which used an Intel Pentium III Coppermine @ 733Mhz and an Nvidia's NV2A (about GeForce 3 speed). Nvidia and Microsoft had a huge dispute over the pricing of Xbox processors in 2002. Neither worked with the other ever again, hence why the Xbox 360 went ATI for the graphics chipset. Sad moment for all of us gamers, that's for sure.

The difference is, and will always be negligible with consoles. No one cares about numbers anymore. Microsoft lost last gen because their library is trash, not because it was more/less powerful. If they want to pull themselves from the gutter they need a reason for people to play their console besides "its the most powerful".
