Mission skip in Homeworld?

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to skip the missions in Homeworld and Homeworld-2?The game is a bit hard to control but I am so engrossed in the story that I want to see how the games end!!I can barely get pass mission 5 in HW and mission 3 in HW-2.
Pls tell me if there is a way to skip and move forward.

There is a Trainer you can get for HW2 which gives you unlimited credits and instant build, but i cant remember what its called. Think it was by PiZZaDoX
