i was thinking of upgrading my videocard and RAM but i seem to have a problem finding a videocard. Heres my specs first:

Mobo: Asus k8v Se Deluxe (supports socket 754)

Cpu: Amd Athlon 64 3400

Videocard: Geforce 6600gt AGP

I wanted to stay with nvidia and i was looking for another AGP card like the 6800 but it seems to me that everything has switched to pci-express. And as far as the ram goes currently i have 2 512 mb sticks i was wondering is dual channel the best way to go or ddr2 ?? I did some research and found these hardware for a complete new build:

Mobo/Cpu: Asus A8N-SLI NVIDIA Socket 939 ATX Motherboard and an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.80GHz Processor with Fan

VideoCard: PNY GeForce 7800 GT / 256MB GDDR3 / PCI Express / SLI / Dual DVI / VIVO / Video Card with Free Call Duty 2 PC Game

RAM: Corsair Value Select Dual Channel 1024MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory

What do you think is it worth going to SLI ? And one more question if i am running the dual channel 2x 512 mb sticks and i want to upgrade another gig do i have to buy another set of 2x 512 mb or can i just buy one complete gig... sorry for all these questions but ive only had expierence with building computers once so far lol.. thank you for answering or trying to answer my questions....

Your configuration looks very good. You will have to upgrade with two move 512 sticks if you want to keep dual channel. It is cheaper than a 1 GB stick anyway. SLI doesn't pay off yet. Wait untill you need it in a year. But get what you have there, just get another 7800 later. And make sure you get the same model.

Thank you for the answers i orginally was just looking for a new nVidia video card and more RAM but it seems everything has jumped to pci express.
