Motherboard problem

Hey all, I have a question... I have an asus p4p800 - E Deluxe and over Thansgiving I took some pictures, plugged my usb in my front usb connector and my pc just turned off, tried to boot back up and as it was tring to boot backup I noticed a burning smell. It somehow fried the intel chipset, how I don't know. This issue has happened to me a year before in a kind of similar situation where I plugged my headset into my front auto connector. Anyone know why this is happening? Help would be very appricated!!! Thanks

What should I try? This has happened to both of my p4p800 motherboards. I'm calling Asus tommorw to see if they will replace it, if they do I will try this model again. If they don't do you know any up-to-date motherboards?
