Mouse and Keyboard problem during XP Install

hi i wonder if you can help, im trying to install reinstall xp on my computer, i go to my bios and set to boot from cdrom (by setting it to the top of the boot order).

when i restart my computer the monitor and keyboard don't work.

iv taken my battery out and waiting for it to reset my bios.

im just wondering how i set to cdrom to install xp without it turning my monitor and keyboard off

Hey Mike welcome!

Did you turn off your keyboard and mouse or did they turn themselves off? Can you provide some computer specs like make, model, memory, hard drive, video card and operating system?
