ok, i searched and could not find anything. i want to know how to dual boot so on c:\ i have windows and on d:\ i have gentoo, how can i do this and that i can choose in bootup to choose to boot either windows or linux??
 
if it is the 2006 version it has the gentoo linux installer on it.. just make a partition from a shell and then use the installer inside the gentoo live cd to install to the local drive.. might want to go here and get some more info on that if you need it. http://www.gentoo.org/ .. good luck mate
 
You can use Grub, or if you have Partition Magic you can use its boot manager utility "Boot Magic," to establish and control the dual boot setup.

If you want WinXP to provide the boot management, you must install Linux 1st and WinXP 2nd. This will result in the OS choice screen appearing during the boot process, where you can choose which OS to boot. The following link may be useful in understanding the dual boot setup:
