My brothers computer is very slow

Especially at bootup and shutdown.

Can you give me any hints for speeding it up?

Did you do a spy-ware and adware scan, or maybe you need to add more ram to your comp. Or try scanning for viruses or trojens that might be slowing it up.

Put HijackThis in e.g. C:\Program Files\HJT and NOT in Temp or on the Desktop!.
