My computer is hyper-sensitive...

Whenever my Microsoft keyboard or Lexmark printer is plugged in, it won't innitiate the screensaver or go into standby. I have tried using different USB Ports, but nothing helps unless the printer is unpluged and I use the standard HP keyboard that came with the computer. I know that the printer and keyboard don't have any problems because I tried them on four different computers and they work fine. Any Ideas???

Just an odd thought, but do you have Wake on USB (not even sure if they have such a thing) enabled in the BIOS? Similar to a Wake on LAN

It seems your USB Power settings are causing that.

1- Open Device Manager

2- Extend the list of USB Controllers,

3- For every USB Root Hub entry, open Properties, Power Management, and check "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
