-Radeon X700
-512 mb DDR2 667
-Intel® Desktop Board D945PSN

I first played CoD2 on 800x640 but the graphics sux, so i change the resolution to 1280x1024 which was much better....but then it lasted for 15 minutes when i heard a click and suddenly my computer just shut down!

when i tried to turn it on again, the monitor was blank.... there were no sounds either....not even the power supply fan was working...HELP!!!!!!!!!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

First thing to try is another power cable. If that doesn`t work, then it looks like your psu has died.

If it was a cheap no name psu, it could simply be total rubbish.

The problem with cheap psu`s is when they go bad, sometimes they can take system components with them. I.E mobo/cpu etc.

The psu is the engine of the computer, and gets overlooked. You only have to look around these forums to see the amount of problems caused by cheap no name psu`s.

That`s why it`s so important to get a good quality psu, with enough wattage.

A good psu will typically have 70% efficiency, and plenty of amps on each rail.

Fortron/Enermax/Antec are just some good makes of psu.

Look at this Psu wattage calculator.

Also look at this. The psu thread.

Regards Howard :) :)
