You need to connect local computers (ones connected directly to the router without going through the internet) to your internal IP address, and people connecting through the internet should connect to the external IP. Also, if there are fields for "Internal port" and "external port", you need to put the same number in both fields, unless your server runs on a different port than the port non-local computers connect to.I don't know if you are still looking in to this but I have a problem like the one you had in the beggining. I have a TP-Link router and I have forwarded port 25565 on my router for my internal IP and I can connect to my server, but no one else can (same thing happened when I used hamachi). I don't know exactly what is the problem and I'm not sure what ip should I be givving to the server itself and what should I give to my friends to connect to.
