My HP notebook won't start up!

puke: I need help, my HP notebook lights up like usual when I power it up. But the screen doesn't come on, and I'm sure it's not busted because a couple of times a curser came up but then went away and another time a "?" came up. The fans are running and all sounds normal but that is as far as normality goes.I'm running on XP and the notebook is just a year old. Processor is intel celeron. Someone please help :dead:

I'm just guessing that maybe something happened to your hard drive.

you could try entering the bios by pressing the appropriate key(s) during bootup. ( check your HP manual for the proper method) this should at least tell you if the screen is working or not.

OR..... I believe that the newer HP notebooks have a particular key to presss during boot up that will initiate recovery. again this should show whether or not the screen is actually working or not. if all else fails call HP.
