My XP o/s cannot see the hard drive

Hi All

I have a hard drive that will not register on any of my computer systems, it does not show if I master or slave it. I have tried it with various leads and various other hard drives.

The HDD is only 10Gb but has some important info on.

I have downloaded some data recovery info but this is all no use as the HDD cannot be seen in DOS or Windows.

I would gladly purchase software to sort out the problem but am unsure if it will work as the HDD cannot be seen, I tried AVG anti virus as I did read there could be a virus problem and again the hard drive does not show up as an option for scanning.

Partition Magic will look at the table and let you see if it's still valid

Yep you was right, (and thankyou for the help) Partition Magic does see the Hard Drive although it shows it has no information on and only registers as 7 GB and it states 10 GB on the case.



Any more ideas please?

Unless you find some other solution, I see only two choices:
1) send the HD to a data recovery vendor OR
2) repartition to the full 10gb and start over.

If you had any kind of backup what-so-ever, then use (2) and then
follow with the restore.

real bummer!
